The most common symptoms of a sinus infection are:
-pressure in the upper part of your face
Essential oils penetrate the affected areas. You can use them without disturbing the body’s balance.
Some essential oils with anti-inflammatory effect are: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Tea Tree, Oregano, Menthol, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lemon, Pine.
The most effective way of irrigating your sinuses is by using a Neti. You use a ceramin or plastic pot that is designed to thin the mucus and clear the nasal passages.
Mix a few drops of the oils in a separate container. In warm water, add ½ teaspoon of unprocessed sea salt and let it dissolve. Mix the oils with the water and put the solution in your Neti pot. Keep your head at a tilt and pour the solution into your top nostril. Repeat on the other side.
If you can, try to repeat this procedure several times a day.
You can also try inhaling the essential oils, by putting some drops in your palm and bringing the hand to your nose. Re-apply the oil frequently, because it evaporates quickly.
Some other methods are to use a Diffuser to disperse the oils into the surrounding air, or to take an essential oil bath.
